Obasanjo Started Nigeria’s Problem, Jonathan Worsened It – Afenifere

Pan-Yoruba social cultural association, Afenifere Renewal Group, has accused former President Olusegun Obasanjo of laying the foundation for the problems currently confronting Nigeria.

The group in an electronic mail sent out to journalists over the weekend by its Publicity Secretary, Kunle Famoriyo, noted that though Obasanjo laid the foundation for the problems, the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan was responsible for the worsening insecurity, economic crisis and corruption in the country.

According to him, “With the security of the country at the lowest abysmal region and unbridled corruption eating daily into the fabric of our society, you can smell nepotism all over the place.

“The reign of impunity and terror can be found in President Jonathan’s administration. Even as former President Olusegun Obasanjo created part of the problems confronting Nigeria today, his reign cannot be compared with the clueless Jonathan administration that some people are trying to market to us in Yorubaland.

“We are no fools. President Jonathan has been able to run Nigeria aground economically; he should not be painted as a performing president.”

The group further claimed that Jonathan could not be regarded as an advocate of Yoruba advancement and development, adding that those who “stage-managed the Jonathan endorsement” in Ile-Ife had never been known to be in the vanguard of Yoruba developmental struggle.

“Were Gen. Alani Akinrinade and Mr. Wale Oshun at the Ife Summit? The translation of democracy for us in Yorubaland is a struggle for development. We know the political tendency that cares for our advancement.

“We know the people who still have the milk of humanity flowing in them and whose body language empathises with the people. Jonathan should ride his bicycle to somewhere else in Bayelsa State,” Famoriyo said.

Dbanj Receives Warning Letter and Is Been Served by Court This Week

However, Oga Bello also clarified that it wasn’t all the ladies in the movie industry who engaged in such practices. Man Asks Church To Return His Tithes Or Face Court Action

An irate and disappointed middle aged man has demanded that his church refund his past contributions, including tithes, or else face court action. The middle aged man claims his Accra-based church refused to assist him, in a period during which he faced extreme financial difficulties. The disappointed man insists that his contributions to the church, which cover a period of fifteen (15) years, should have afforded him some reprieve in his time of trouble. However, he claims the one place where he expected to find help turned a blind eye on his predicament and his pleas for help fell on deaf ears. He has decided to move to a new church which would be more willing to assist its members but before he leaves, he says he wants the church to pay back every cedi he has ever paid into their coffers.

“I want them to pay me all the money I have given to them since I started churching [fellowshipping] with them. His demands are not restricted to donations and collection however. The frustrated man insists that even the tithes he paid over the fifteen (15) year period should be returned to him. “Everything. Donations, everything they should refund my money to me. The tithes I am paying is not going to God, it’s going to one particular person and that is the pastor. It is not going to God, it is going to the pastor.” The peeved man insists that the money he paid should still be in the church coffers and that the money “can never fly”. I want them to give me my money, he reiterated. “If they do not give me back my money, I will take them to court!”.

“I Did A DNA Test And Was Told Two Of The Children Are Not Mine" - Femi Kuti

Femi Kuti is upset and sad at the moment. According to a DNA test recently carried out by the father of 5 on his children, shows two of them, Dupe and Tosin are not his. He revealed this to Encomium few days ago in an interview, regretting why a woman should give him what is not is. Here’s how Encomium puts it;

Out of his alleged five children: Made, Afolabi, Dupe, Tosin and Ayomide, two of them, Dupe and Tosin (a boy and a girl) have been discovered not to be his biological children, according to a recent DNA test.  He confessed being disappointed and pained that a woman can actually give someone what does not belong to him.

“I did a DNA test and was told two of the children are not mine. The first two (after Made), a boy and a girl.  It is very serious.  I never knew somebody could give you what is not yours.  I’ve three boys now. I can’t father children I was tricked to believe I am their father,” he lamented.

Because of the betrayal, he returned the two children, Dupe and Tosin, to their mothers.

Funke, his ex-wife, gave birth to his first child and son, Made, who Femi treasures so much. And Bisi Ajala gave birth to Ayomide and one other child that the DNA test recently proved not to be Femi’s.  The third woman’s name was not revealed.

Pop star Wizkid is surely not having a smooth time with a lot of people in the music industry at the moment, in 2014 alone, he’s had strings of beefs with other artistes which include Davido, female singer Saeon, and his ex-producer Samklef. Now, another famed producer has voiced his annoyance and displeasure with the pop star saying ‘I don’t have his time anymore’.  This is coming from the popular music Producer Sarz. Osabuohien Osaretin known as Sarz is the popular music producer who is responsible for the production of countless hit singles by Wizkid, the Edo state born music producer is responsible for songs like ‘samba’, ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, and several others.

So here’s what led to their fall out. There’s been a cold war between both parties when Wizkid began to work more with other producers like Legendury Beatz and MaleekBerry, and it got worse when Saeon’s ex-manager Alex Adegbenro while narrating his version of the Saeon and Wizkid saga said, ‘And I remember he gave us a list of producers he could work with, he said it was either, Samklef, Sarz or Maleek Berry and we picked Sarz and then when he heard the beat Sarz made, he didn’t like it, so he called Sarz and was like ‘dude, you know my new sound, why do you keep making beats like this. So we went back the second time and Maleek Berry just laced a beat and the song happened like a freestyle’. Sarz didn’t take this likely. Earlier in the week, a twitter interview was organised and Sarz was asked if he still produce beats for Wizkid’, and his reply was, ‘No Lol, I don’t have his time anymore’. Probing further, someone else asked, ‘but you produced his hennesy artistry song?’ and Sarz replied saying, ‘Because 2baba begged me’. 1500 YEAR OLD BIBLE CONFIRMS THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS NOT CRUCIFIED

Much to the dismay of the Vatican, an approx. 1500-2000 year old bible was found in Turkey, in the Ethnography Museum of Ankara.

Discovered and kept secret in the year 2000, the book contains the Gospel of Barnabas – a disciple of Christ – which shows that Jesus was not crucified, nor was he the son of God, but a Prophet.  The book also calls Apostle Paul “The Impostor”.  The book also claims that Jesus ascended to heaven alive, and that Judas Iscariot was crucified in his place.

A report by The National Turk says that the Bible was seized from a gang of smugglers in a Mediterranean-area operation. The report states the gang was charged with smuggling antiquities, illegal excavations, and the possession of explosives.  The books itself is valued as high as 40 Million Turkish Liras (approx. 28 mil. Dollars).  Man, where is the Thieves Guild, when you need them?

According to reports, experts and religious authorities in Tehram insist that the book is original.  The book itself is written with gold lettering, onto loosely-tied leather in Aramaic, the language of Jesus Christ. The text maintains a vision similar to Islam, contradicting the New Testament’s teachings of Christianity.  Jesus also foresees the coming of the Prophet Muhammad, who would found Islam 700 years later.

It is believed that, during the Council of Nicea, the Catholic Church hand-picked the gospels that form the Bible as we know it today; omitting the Gospel of Barnabas (among many others) in favor of the four canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.  Many biblical texts have begun to surface over time, including those of the Dead Sea and Gnostic Gospels; but this book especially, seems to worry the Vatican.

 What does this mean to Christian-derived religions and their followers?  Quite a tight spot.  The Vatican has asked Turkish authorities to let them examine the contents of the book within the Church.  Now that the book has been found, will they come to accept it and its evidence?  Will they deny it altogether?  Call it a “Muslim lie”, as did the “Truth” Magazine, in 2000?

To many, this book is a beacon of hope, that believers soon realize that the object of their adoration is arbitrary; and that all text, especially religious text, is subject to interpretation.

What does this mean to atheists/agnostics/secular thinkers?  Is the text real?  Fake?  Does it matter?  Hopefully, this news inspires the religious to ask questions, instead of pointing fingers or believing anything blindly.

Please, don’t go poking fun or tossing around the “I told you so!”s.  The biggest danger of faith is when people believe what they want to believe, defending against any and all evidence; especially when that evidence revolutionizes their foundation from the ground up.  And the biggest culprit to that danger is the ego trap: rejecting/criticizing others, for being unlike you.

CRISIS DELAYS EAGLES N1.44BN WORLD CUP MONEY

Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Federation, Musa Amadu, has said Nigeria are yet to receive the nine million dollars prize money they earned at the last World Cup because of the leadership crisis that has bedevilled the country.

“The money is ready, but the katakata (crisis) we have had has meant we are yet to access it,” NFF general secretary Amadu disclosed in a radio interview monitored in Abuja yesterday.

“We believe that once everything is sorted, we will get the cash.” The leadership tussle began soon after the country’s exit at the hands of France in Brazil 2014.

Amadu also said they are very much aware of the $3.8 million advanced to them by the federal government to offset the appearance fee for the players at Brazil and are obliged to refund it once they get the money.

“We have a memo from the sports ministry reminding us of our obligation to the government and once we get the money, we will pay up,” he said.

The Super Eagles reached the knockout stage of the World Cup in Brazil for only the second time in their history.

House of Reps Members List 50 Impeachable Offences Against Jonathan

Indications emerged yesterday that members of the House of Representatives are on the same page with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan.

This is just as the lawmakers coordinating the impeachment process have disclosed that they have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice.

A ranking officer in the House who revealed this said both chambers have resolved to work together for the common good of the country by impeaching President Jonathan for “incompetence, corruption and unprecedented impunity.”

He revealed that the impeachment plot against Jonathan was not a partisan affair, explaining that lawmakers from all the political parties have identified with the “cause” and will not give up until the President is “sent packing.”

“I’m sure you read the reports today that senators are going to move against Jonathan. Now you can confirm that the impeachment thing is not about APC. It is a non-partisan cause. We have all resolved that the man (President Jonathan) must go.

“Never in the history of Nigeria has a leader displayed such crass incompetence as we have seen in President Jonathan. It is glaring and you can feel it. Mr. President, with due respect, has shown that he is not capable of running this country. That is the basic truth”, he stated.

According to the lawmaker, over 50 impeachable offences have been identified against the president and members of the House would work closely with the Senate to ensure that the president is impeached.

3 Students Shot As Unijos Protests And Riots Enter Day 2

The protest over an increase in school fees has escalated as it has taken a violent turn.

Eye witness reports have it that 3 students have been shot by soldiers trying to stop the protests. None of them were fatal but they have been rushed to the hospital.

Oritsefemi Accused Of Absconding After Collection Money For Show In Czech

The brewing controversy surrounding the Europe tour of pop artiste, Orisefemi. is growing into uncontrollable proportions with the main actors throwing the punches of accusations at each other.

The singer has been accused of absconding without fulfilling contractual obligations of a leg of the tour in Europe for which he has been allegedly paid.

According to reports, Orisefemi and show promoter, Alex Ozone departed Nigeria on November 8, 2014 and they landed in Padova, Italy on November 9 ahead of the month-long European tour of 10 cities at the rate of €1,500 per show.

Before the tour, Czech Republic-based Urban Entertainment, through Alex Ozone, signed the tour contract papers with Orisefemi’s ‘Arogunmente Sound Entertainment, spelling out the details.

The story making rounds at the moment now is that despite signing a contract for the shows, Orisefemi ran away from his hotel room in Czech republic and returned to Nigeria to demand for more money.

According to the tour organiser, Alex Ozone, the ‘Double Wahala’ star had been paid €6,500 which should cover his fees for 5 shows but has only performed at two shows before disappearing and turning around to ask for more money.

NET spoke to both parties, and below is a narration of their versions of the story.

Otherwise called Danku within the Nigerian music industry, Yusuf Adebola is Oritsefemi’s manager and he spoke to NET exclusively on the saga trailing his artiste’s European tour.

According to him, ‘Matthew Ohio was supposed to package the tour, I’m sure wherever he is now, he’ll either be laughing at us or feeling pity for us. I didn’t give Alex Ozone the approval but because he’s a friend of the house he took it up and started promoting him and convinced us that he could handle it.

He just got to know Femi this year, through me. This same guy now came to my house to let us know we need to start the tour travel processing, so he collected our passports with the aim of going to the embassy to get visas and other documents, instead he kept my own passport in his house and only submitted Oritsefemi’s own along with his own claiming that he manages Oritsefemi at the embassy.

He went to represent himself as the manager and kept my own passport at home, I just went to ransack his house yesterday and picked it up under a cupboard in his house where he kept it.

Contrary to Ozone’s claim, we were not paid any upfront payment, he’s probably the one that collected the money from the show promoters and got himself stuck and when their documents came out, I told them that we won’t travel if my documents don’t arrive but he convinced us that my visa would be approved during the week and I’ll join them there, so the plan for was Oritsefemi to go with him and when I join them we’ll kick off the tour, but since that didn’t happen because he didn’t even process my visa, and my artiste wasn’t comfortable with the arrangement.

After about a week, he called me that he wasn’t comfortable with the setting and immediately I got him a return ticket and flew him back home, because when they got to Europe, they stole Oritsefemi’s passport to keep him stranded with them.

Ozone can’t claim he paid my artist, because he didn’t sign a contact with my artiste, he signed it with me on behalf of my label, so why would he pay my artiste if he’s really sensible. I told him I am not concerned about that.

According to Ozone’s version of the story, Oritsefemi had earlier travelled with him to Europe only to return to Nigeria to demand for more money before coming back and absconding yet again.

Oritsefemi’s manager said: ‘It’s a lie, nothing of such happened, if I even want to take him on as regards the contract we signed, the contract stated that he was supposed to arrange visas and travel documents for 4 members of the team, but I only gave him mine and that of Oritsefemi and yet he didn’t deliver on it, he kept my own in his house, Ozone is a fraudstaer, I have known him for several years and he should be jailed.’

Alex Ozone, in his initial reaction to the controversy on his Facebook wall wrote:

‘That’s how Orisefemi abscond from his hotel back to naija without notice and start demanding for extra money outside the signed Tour contract fee… Yet he was paid upfront money and everything was provided for him….. WHICH WAY MY PEOOLE?.’

In an exclusive interview with NET, Alex Ozone narrated his own version of the story saying: ‘This story came up because some people are just fools, I was the one that did Davido’s first European tour which was very successful, I was the one that brought Terry G, Chuddy K and others to Europe for their last European tours too and it all went smoothly. This is what I do, it is very expensive to bring an artiste from Nigeria to Europe, I don’t gain anything from it, I’m just doing it to promote Nigerian culture and music. They all know the situation, there’s no money its just to promote their brands.

‘Early this year when I was promoting Chuddy K’s tour, Danku and Oritsefemi came to my office and they said they want me to package their European tour, but I told them I couldn’t do it because at that time I was busy with Chuddy K’s tour so I linked them up with one of my DJs in Europe, but it didn’t work out because the Dj said Orisefemi’s brand wasn’t big enough in Europe. So when I finished with Chuddy K I told them I’ll help them out and I pulled some strings and spoke with my sponsor, Urban Entertainment. We agreed on a contract of €1,500 per show for 10 cities. The tour was supposed to have been in August, but Orisefemi postponed it because that was when he went for the NEA award in New York, then shortly afterwards the Ebola crisis happened so getting visas was a little difficult.
 ‘So because of the timings and urgency of the tour, when I took their visas to the embassy, they said it was already late, so I persuaded them and the lady said the best they could do was to do an express visa for Oritsefemi which would be ready in 4 days and she’ll prepare a first document for Danku so he could use it to re-apply later, but because I know his manager Danku very well, I was worried and I told Oritsefemi about it and he told me not to worry about it, that he’ll handle Danku’s case.’
 When quizzed further on the allegations that he never took Danku’s passport to the embassy, Ozone said: ‘When the woman said both couldn’t work out, I told my boy to go and pick it up from her and give to Danku so he can use it to re-apply later by himself. All these while I was speaking to Oritsefemi about it but he assured me not to bother that I should give him upfront payment for the job and I paid Orisefemi N300,000 which is an equivalent of €1,500 and I later learnt that Oritsefemi even lied to Danku that I gave him N150,000. So we got to Italy and he played his first show in Padova and the following day we were supposed to connect a flight to Czech Republic where they had already booked his hotel for one month and paid, but we missed our flight, then the following day, Oritsefemi woke up and said he was going to Rome to see his friend, I advised him against it but he insisted only for us to discover that he came back to Nigeria after spending just 4 days.’

According to Ozone, he was puzzled but remained calm until he spoke to Oritsefemi.

‘When I discovered he came back to Nigeria, I called him up and asked why, he said his new management is not aware that he’s on tour. At that point I was pissed, because it’s his job to explain to his new management that before they signed him, he had already signed a tour contract and the next thing, he requested for €5,000 before he could come back. We paid him the money through Western Union and he came back and even did a video drop for two shows confirming he’ll be performing at those cities. He performed at one show on Wednesday, then on Thursday morning we went to wake him up from his hotel room but he was nowhere to be found, the receptionist said he checked out around 5am only for us to see that he’s back in Nigeria again. I was very pissed, so I called him again and he said he wants to be paid another money before he returns. The problem now is even if we agree to give him the money, what is the guarantee that he won’t run back and demand for more money, and his manager, Danku is aware of all these, he’s even the one demanding for more money. So far he has just performed at two shows, he’s been paid €6,500 and he has a contract of €1,500 per show for 10 shows which means he’s owing us now.
 

NET quizzed Ozone how he was supposed to be paid for his effort on the tour, and he said: ‘The show actually sells for €2,500, we pay the artiste €1,500 as agreed and we spend the rest on logistics, flight, feeding, accommodation and all.’

Between Danku and Alex Ozone

For those in the know, Oritsefemi’s manager, Danku and popular show promoter, Alex Ozone used to be very good friends and their friendship dates back to 2010 as rookie artistes’ managers. While Alex Ozone ran a media and entertainment company called 03 Media, Danku also runs the defunct E-74 Entertainment.

They have both worked with several pop stars in the industry in different capacities as mangers, A&R, publicists and all. The last project they worked on was the Terry G project in which Danku served as Terry G’s manager while Ozone was the A&R manager before they both parted ways with Terry G in January 2014.

Since then, Danku moved on to become Oritsefemi’s full time manager while Ozone embarked on the Chuddy K 2014 European tour project.
